BASICS
Jitters: Be prepared for your child to be nervous, shy, and a little bit scared on the first day. He/she may even cry or plead with you to stay or not want to come into the classroom. That is perfectly normal. He/She may be excited and happy, too. Sometimes children have a hard time letting go (some parents do, too) for a week or two or even longer. That is also quite normal. I am very experienced in dealing with First-Day-Jitters. We will give you a few minutes to take pictures and give a hug and kiss goodbye. You can help your child find his/her cubby and put his/her things in it*. We will have a final moment to to say, "see you later", then I need all parents to leave the room so I can begin the class. It is important that your child knows that you are going to pick them up after school. It also helps them to know where you will be while they are in school (work, home, etc).
* You can help your child with his/her cubby the first couple of days, then I will ask that you let them do it for him/herself after that.

BirthdaysYour child's birthday will be placed on the Monthly Calendar. This is the day you have the option of bringing a fun, non-food item for each student in the class.
